A natural solution to relieve and manage low back pain

Chiropractic And Low Back Pain

Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal problems that people suffer with. About 70-90% of people will experience low back pain at one point in their life. This is an exceptional figure and even though it is so prevalent it is important to note that low back pain is not normal. So what can you do if you are experiencing some form of low back pain? Chiropractors help people with low back pain on a daily basis – it is our bread and butter per say.

What is low back pain?

While it may seem like a silly question low back pain comes in lots of different presentations. Low back pain refers to any pain, stiffness or restriction in the low back area. For the purpose of this explanation we are going to include in the low back region both the lumbar vertebra (actual low back) and the pelvis (pelvis, sacrum and coccyx area). Within this area is a lot of bones, joints, ligaments and soft tissues. The low back region plays a crucial part in our structure. Not only does it bear a lot of the weight of our body, it also has a large range of movement within itself and also enables our legs to move as they do.

The most common reason people seek out chiropractic care is for low back pain – we literally see people everyday because of this reason. In our society it is the 2nd leading cause of disease burden.

Whilst low back pain will occasionally resolve on its own, because of its role in our biomechanical structure it is really important to get it checked as soon as possible. That’s why at InnerBloom ciropractirc in Diamond creek I encourage my patients to get their low back pain checked as soon as it presents itself.

Low Back Pain During Pregnancy

Many women experience low back pain during pregnancy and for many reasons! The most common is that being the forward shift in gravity due to your growing belly. This puts a lot of pressure on the low back spinal joints and can cause a lot of muscle tension and pain. Other things like a posterior baby and weak muscles can contribute to back pain during pregnancy. Now while back pain during pregnancy is common it doesn’t have to be your daily reality. Chiropractic is one way to improve your low back pain during your pregnancy. As a pregnancy Chiropractor Alana uses specific gentle adjustments to improve spinal function as well as loosen any tight muscles. Alana also give specific exercises that can help to improve and maintain your movement throughout pregnancy to help ease your low back pain.

Can Chiropractic Help Low Back Pain?

A lot of people choose chiropractors as their practitioner to help them with their low back pain.

At InnerBloom chiropractic it is our aim to not only help relieve your low back pain but also to find the true reason for why it has occurred in the first place. We take pride in not only helping you with your low back pain but putting things in place so that it doesn’t come back.

After our detailed history we will then go through a thorough examination where we look at things like your posture, range of motion and a bunch of other tests that help us identify what is causing your low back pain. If need be we can refer you for further testing such as an X-ray.
